Wear gear, not jeans, and you'll be fine. Usually the heat is on the left side as that's where the V header comes down. The fan should kick in at 102-04 *C. Wrap has pros and cons, the cons being it gets and stay wet.

+1 The few times I wore jeans, the heat was a bit ridiculous. In leathers, the temps have yet to bother me.
