Yes, it has started already. So what options are out there for rear sprockets? I've shopped around a little and only found two options (besides a carrier...which I don't want because of cost and the fact I'd never take advantage of the capability) a DP hard anodized sprocket and a STM hard anodized one. The DP one is pretty pricey for a sprocket at about $275 at one place, but it sure is pretty. Didn't find any steel ones. So what's out there?
you may find that buying a carrier will be cheaper in the long run. after the initial purchase, the sprockets are cheaper to buy. you can get steel or alloy sprockets for the quick change style. I am going to steel, as the alloy doesn't seem last all that long.
welcome to the dark side, or is that the upright side
You know what JB, thanks for that!! I never even priced the carriers. After one sprocket change, the carrier is cheaper...especially compared to the DP sprocket.
But there seems to be ahuge price difference between brands. STM's are like $475+, but AFAM's are sub $300.
Which one?
