If its wet, those Ducs really have a shot this weekend.

My predictions:

Dry Race:

Lorenzo

Yes but he doesn't have his front tyre on the slippery white curb paint
does he :)
Stoner makes him look like he missed the apex by a couple of feet.
Stoners elbow is almost hooked into the green paint on the inside of the curb.

^There's no way to tell exactly which part of the corner either rider is in (or what follows that can influence those specific corners at those specific tracks), but just guessing from the pics, Stoner is well ahead of the apex, while Hayden is in the middle of it, which justifies both of their locations on the track at that point.

Either way, Stoner's corner is banked several degrees, and Hayden's is practically flat. Case closed.

Besides, even if you're right, I don't see anything abnormal with a Ducati understeering and missing the apex ;)

ps, some curbs are slippery, others not as much... again, different tracks.

except from those pics, we don't know where the apex is or if either is at max lean. if anything, Hayden appears to still be closing down, while Stoner is already there.

just saying

No disrespect intended davy.j, but your observation sounds like you may not be personally familiar with riding on a track.

The paint used on tracks isn't slippery and there is no perfect single place that you should apex a corner. Your line and apex point are dependent on how you intend to set yourself up for your exit. A picture of one corner doesn't provide any info on how and why you got in that way or what your intention for the exit is.

Matt -P

i have it on good authority that the cameraman tilted his camera for the hayden shot , then cropped it ... making it look like he was leaning over but in fact was sitting on his bike on the starting grid. if you look closely enough you will see the umbrella of the grid girl

I got my compass out and Stoner has a lean angle of approximately 93 degrees
