I've got the SS half torn apart while getting the forks & shock tuned up so I'm doing all the maintenance I can think of. Checked the valves (all in spec), installed AllBalls steering head bearings, cleaned and coated all the electrical grounds & connectors, etc., etc.
I figure I should lube the speedo and tach cables, too. What should I lube them with? Any tips for success?

There is stuff for this called Flex Shaft Lube. I got a small squeeze tube at the parts store that is plenty to do both cables a few times. Really though, grease on a rag will probably do as well.

lube

prob anything better then letting 'em rust like some do. i remove, clean and then lube the inner cable-thingy with a bit of motul 10w-40 full synth, when doing my annual oil change. in a few weeks a dab usually ends up at the speedo and tacho mounts, needing a wipe.
