Is anybody using the NGK DCPR9E series of sparkplugs in the 996 engines? I have been looking for a crossover from the CHAMPION RA59GC plug. A common recomendation is the DCPR9E but when I look at these plugs I noticed that the tips project 2m/m further from the shell than the RA59GC spark plug. Is this a non issue? Does anybody know how much clearance is in the combustion chamber at top dead center? I would hate to spin the engine to 10,000 rpm only to find the plug gaps closed! It would be nice to be able to use them as they are easy to find and relatively cheap, but I am cautious at the moment.

I used the NGK DCPR9E without issue in my '00 996 biposto. I had to switch to the R2525-10 for clearance issues, but the DCPR9E plugs will work with OEM pistons.
You needed clearance for engine mods.? Are the R2525-10's easy to find? I have yet to find them.
