Hi-

What are folks doing to help smooth out the snatchy throttle response?

I installed a G2 throttle tamer, but it doesn't seem to have helped...:(

Your advise and experience is much appreciated:)

thanks

Termis and dp chip helped to smooth things out for me (compared to stock). It is not as smooth as a shaft drive bmw or guzzi, but it did help with coasting, and transitions.
Best to just keep the throttle wide open, no problems with that.

1) check your chain tension. That was 90% of the problem on my bike.
2) Fatduc will help

I just checked my chain tension and it was at 34mm.
Since the book and the swingarm gave 30-33mm as ideal, I loosened the two pinch bolts and tried to turn the rear chain guard to tighten the chain..... but it didn't move.... so, I went to the threads, found out chain tension might supposed to be at 38-42 instead....

What are your thoughts on correct chain tension?
Would 34mm cause the snatchy throttle?

thanks!

Jerky throttle

Termi single sider plus kyle throttle tube..worked for me

Also a less expensive solution...Have you checked and adjusted play in the throttle cables ? :)

1. I have the G2 throttle tamer, is the Kyle better for the Hyper?

2. Yes, there is no play in the cables.

thanks!

kyle smoothes out the action early on..similar profile to stock and then gives you a boost /step on about half throttle forward

Cheers Karl

Kyle and G2 about the same but G2 has different cams to install to make the cable pull more or less aggressive. The third part of my throttle fix, G2, Fatduc, & www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?t=71331
Smoothed out so much I don't cover the clutch lever anymore in parking lots.

Better fueling through tuning (PCIII or the like) or Fatfuc; throttle tube (G2 or Kyle); light flywheel; chain tension; suspension tuning (poor suspension exacerbates an existing problem); throttle cable tension (stock has too much slack); a steady hand

Any number of the above will work, but I'd start with the chain, throttle cable tension and practice. They're the cheapest solutions...

never had anyluck with g2 on street bikes / works well with off road bikes in severe conditions its pretty much what it was designed for anyways would try all other possibilities before spending $ on throttle tube or cam throttle

Wow, thanks for all the input!
Checked the chain and throttle cable last night.
Had a ride today, and things felt better.
My last bike was a KTM 690 SM, so, maybe I'm still just getting used to the 1100cc's:)

TBH I never noticed a snatchy throttle on mine but then all I've ridden is ducatis...so feathering the clutch a little seems to work...or running a lower gear than you'd expect for a twin with so much torque...and a loose and light grip on the throttle (but you know that) ...thin gloves ?
