That's like everything else what you want & who's doing it, I have somewhere around 15 helmets from dirt bike to boat racing over the last 40 years of punishing my body (& wallet) one of my desert truck racing helmets cost a grand & took him 2 months of air brushing, that black one pictured has gold leaf in the lettering & Sylvester the cat rubbing his hands together was my painters idea cause I'm always scheming up crazy ideas while riding that one took all of a day & cost $400 (gold leaf)
It's whatever you want to spend if you do the troy Lee thing it starts around a grand & goes up from there plus a year wait if he's never done one before.

Everytime I walk into cycle gear some tight azz is bickering about helmet costs & me being me blurts out while walking past "if you have a $100 head buy a $100 helmet" witch usually gets me the evil eye from the customer I don't even know.

I replace mine every 5 to 7 years or if I smack my Mellon on a roll cage tube or hit the ground it goes directly on the shelf.

This one I only wore one time the 1998 Baja 1000 we won class 8 that year I'm probably in it $2000 & that's 1998 money

It's the stratosphere with lightning bolts going down to other casinos & a couple houses of ill repute

In 1995 this us what happens on a 500XC 6 speed husky when your tapped out on a lake bed when you go "speed blind" thinking you've scrubbed off enough speed before the road crossing in goldfield Nevada & clearing the other side by oh idk 100' doing somewhere around 70 when you THOUGH you were doing 30 hitting the flat ground bottoming out everything including your footpegs then bouncing over the bars into more pavement with your head stopping the fall then braking a collar bone, 3 ribs & my right wrist.
Shoei wanted it back for display purposes but I couldn't part with it (it

was brand new)

So the moral of the story is buy the best helmet money can buy if you can't afford one you shouldn't be on ANY motorcycle.

All I've ever owned is Shoei helmets..... PERIOD!

I can't imagine how hard it would be to wrap a helmet without wrinkles & getting all the lines straight without stretching everything out of proportion.

That's probably why I don't attempt doing wraps myself unless it's flat. It does look great I'll say that
