So, what bikes led you to Streetfighterdom?! I just picked up my first Ducati after lusting after one for 20 years. Here are a few of my past bikes starting with my first ever bike, a 1979 Suzuki GS1000e. I had a few other bikes mixed in but you can see it's not surprising I ended up with an SFS. Show us your bikes that led you here.

First bike after moving to Phoenix from Chicago in 2000. It was this time were I strolled into my first Ducati dealership. Superbikes in Mesa AZ. I tried to buy a red M900 but I didn't have any credit and my financing was rejected.

Purchased this 1997 Bandit that same year. I dropped it and took the fairings off and put on an SRAD750 front end.

Years later I picked up a clean 2006 GSXR-1000 and took the fairings off of it.
980898

Had a few ZRX-1200's. Really fun bikes.
980897

Had a stint with trackdays and roadracing until a bad crash and a helicopter ride.

Finally, exactly 20 years later I got one. I remember drooling over this exact bike at Corse Superbikes north of Milwaukee. When they were closing and it was on sale at $16k, it was not even close to attainable for me. Patience paid off, this thing is something else.

Ok going to take a crack at this, been riding for 34 years on the street.

First bike DT200 Yamaha dual sport
981230

Upgraded to a more street bike a year later and bought a used XS400 Special (it wasn't very special)
981231

Drove that through college then upgraded to some much more crazy, RZ500 - it was mostly wrecked paid like 800 bucks and rebuilt it
981232

Then had a lapse in judgement and bought and ironhead 883 sportster - all time worst bike I ever owned - was 10000 degrees in traffic, would blister the chrome off the rocker boxes - utter shit.
981233

Traded it in on a Honda, didn't get a lot for it, was probably worth less in my book, bought a Honda and started my sportbike phase, broke a lot less, a Smokin Joe's cbr600F3
981234

Traded that on an F4
981235

Then an R1
981236

Then got caught up in the chopper craze and build a West Coast Choppers CFL. Was fun to build, not fun to ride at all.
981237

Next went back to a sport bike and bought and RC51 with Sato high mounts
981238

Also bought an RZ500 and turned it into a YZR500 Rep, still have it.

Next was a YSR50 cause it matched the RZ500 before it was a YZR500 rep
981240

and bought a WR400 for offroad but was plated for onroad
981241

Then bought something actually useful on the road, KTM Duke
981242

After the Duke came a custom Ruckus, 5k in it, still couldn't get over 40 so sold it
981243

Also had a bunch of KTM 300 2 strokes, all plated, 2008, then 2011 and finally this 2015
981245

After the KTM Duke, bought a Monster 821
981246

and then finally the Streetfighter 848 last year

Pretty diverse path of bikes Roadkillrob! I wouldn't necessarily expect you to end up with an SF after those. The YZR500 replica is probably my favorite. I also wish I snatched up all the YSR50's when they were $100.00:)

Ya I am all over the place for sure, getting older wanted something a bit more upright and thought the monster would do it as I liked the monster my wife had years ago but wasn’t quite sporty enough so SF was the better compromise between a monster and a full on sport bike.

I love the 998R. I actually started out looking for a 998 but after evaluating my "needs", the 1098s was a better value to me in the current market. I lusted after the Sport Classic line for a bit too but the market was already going crazy by then. Great collection of bikes!

This is the bike that started it all for me, My dad brought this home in the trunk of his car when I was 10 years old - it was a complete surprise He never even hinted at it.

Is that the actual bike your dad brought home to you and you still have it? If yes, that's awesome.

No Sorry, that's just a pic I found on the web. It is exactly like the one I had - even the color but after a few years I sold it and moved up to a 125 Suzuki and by 14 I was racing 125 motocross.
