I'm winterizing my 848 today and am in the process of changing the oil. The dealer sold me an o-ring for the sump plate. However, when I pulled the sump plate, there was no o-ring, just sealant. The o-ring they sold me does sort of fit in the recessed area of the pump, but I have my doubts that it will stay there once the sump plate is torqued down. I really don't want the o-ring to end up floating around in the engine. Should I just use sealant? If so, what should I use?
