Hi Ducati friends,

I just purchased a new to me 2014 SF848. I'm looking to add an Ohlins damper, and from the digging I've done, it seems the 848 is not set up with a mounting kit from the factory like the 1098 is, and is a relatively complex mod. The detailed installation guide is unfortunately around 8 years old, and the links to the external photos are dead. Can anyone who has successfully completed this modification post an installation guide and parts they purchased?

Thanks!

Same functions. Öhlins is more popular. But from the look of it, Matris is the only thing left.

I used the below link for details of parts required.

I just installed the factory SF1098 damper on my SF848 and it was easy breezy. Took less time to install than it did to source the parts. Could you do the same but add a bracket designed to clamp the Ohlins damper to the factory mount? Seems likely to me.

Companies like SendCutSend or Cognito Moto will make custom bits for you if you provide measurements. The clamp that holds the damper is a very simple shape and could easily be duplicated and modified to hold an Ohlins.

Ducabike have a clamp for the ohlins damper, along with the stock mounting hardware, it just needs a couple spacers made up to work. Still an easy job.
