Im getting a deal for a ´06 999, selling at 9,000. So the question is should I sell my bike with 3000 miles on it for about the same price and get the 999 or should I keep mine.

The owner of the dealership is a friend of mine, and is giving me that price.

I just ride some weekends. And most of it on highways.

The 999 is hotter (something to consider since you live in Mexico), and service costs are much more.

Also, the 999 sucks a lot more fuel. I've been riding the past week with my nephew, he on my SS1000DS, me on my 999R (though we did trade for a few hours the other day). Same roads, same speeds. Every time we stopped for gas, the 999 took 30-50% MORE than the SS.

The 999 is a nice bike, but it would not be my choice for my only bike, especially if it's mostly used on the highway, as you stated.

I did this my ss is up for sale and no looking back the 999 rocks get it.
