Seat lock won’t unlock

Anyone know how to get the seat off if the key turns and it does not unlock? I read that the cable can get detached from the lock. Now I’m stuck I cannot get the seat off. Anyone had this? Any ideas?
It’s a 1200s 2015 year, I’ve only had it a few months and love it apart from this

Did you try pushing down on the seat real hard in the latch area while you’re turning the key ?

Yup, kinda common sense first thing to do..But has to be said.
Yeah tried that. I think the cable came off at the key lock end. I can turn the key a long way and there is no resistance like I would feel
Now I don’t see how I can get the seat off to get at the cable and fix it
I'd take a ride down to a locksmiths and get them to release it.
Does anyone know of something that could be used to replace the lock tumbler itself? I don't really need this to lock and I hate having to dig out a key to get the seat off.

I vaguely remember someone posting up how they were able to release the seat with a long screwdriver. Seems the L side rear body panel has to be loosened first. Then they were able to slide the screwdriver underneath the seat, and push the small lock lever to release the seat.

Of course, it's been a while so it probably was one of the 1st gen w/c multis, or maybe even an air cooled multi. Maybe even a different forum.... Hey, I'm old and senile, but it may be worth a try for you if you got nothing else.

edit
Thanks guys
I got the seat off, sadly much easier than I expected.
Now I have to get to the lock barrel which looks like a bit of a job and a lot to remove.
