Welp, I just got home from a ride and the front section of my rear seat cowl flew off somewhere on the 405

I did a quick look around the internet and it looks like this Streetfighter piece is going to be tricky to source... any one have ideas or even better a busted up cowl with an intact rubber section? 0:)

Seeing that thin bead of OEM adhesive makes me want to be proactive and take mine off to redo it before it goes flying.

I bought mine brand new from the dealer a few months ago (was on their shelf for like 5 years cause it was yellow) and that part from the day I bought it has felt poorly attached - seeing that picture certainly confirms it is poorly attached and it looks like bathroom caulking - something like urethane adhesive would seem like a better choice, but maybe too aggressive for the rubber/foam.

Did you buy that cowl brand new - almost looks like someone maybe had it come off and used some silicone to stick it back on, but sometimes Ducati does do things that look a bit cobbled together in a shed themselves.

Yes Sir, this is all Ducati craftsmanshit right here. In some additional research I have found a couple more stories about this happening, usually after being on a hot day or after sitting in the sun. Exactly what happened to me. I had it in the driveway while I changed the timing belts and when I took it for a ride after about 2 hours in the sun it loosened up and flew off. im bummed. I do metal fabrication and could probably make an entire replacement coul piece out of aluminum but I don't think it would look great stylistically nor do I want to spend 10 hours of labor on it...

A cowl made out of aluminum would look great. I think that it would go great with an aluminum tank. I also think the lower engine cowling would look nice made from aluminum.
