for those of you with the SBK Showa fork conversion on a 99+ with a cyclecat DTC-1 upper, two questions.

is there enough fork tube above the upper triple to mount cyclecat 53mm clipons or is mounting below the upper triple necessary?
what clipons did you use and where were they mounted, above or below?

thanks many

I've mounted mine below the triple ( I don't like the idea of mounting them above because of how low the triple would be on the forks) and i used woodcraft racing clip-ons, they are the best in my opinion

his bodywork is different than yours, as he has a FI modell built from '98 up.

:)

stock FI clamps are 30mm high, and these bikes got the ~10mm spacer
rings beneath them too.

stock FI fork is 74cm long, whereas the superbike one should be 72cm.

so if you find clip-ons with 25mm clamps, drop the spacer rings in the bin
where they belong, and push the fork tubes some 5mm through the tripples,
you will be fine, and able to mount the clip-ons atop the upper tripple, not
to interfere with the FI bodywork.

bodywork could be slighty dropped too with some minor alterations to
the front frame / fairing mounting bracket.
some 2cm lowering make world of a difference and are not to detect visuably.

same applies to the carb modell, buddy is running standard non-raised
cllip-ons beneath the upper tripple with no interference to his bodywork.
