I use an electrical impact gun, very good tool to remove nuts/bolts which are very tight.
Though, if you do not have an impact gun a buddy of mine said he would use a piece of wood wedged in between the chain and the rear sprocket to prevent it from turning.
Or, a friend sitting on the bike holding the brakes while you loosen the nut should work too.
