How do you lock the engine / rear wheel to get the gearbox sprocket nut off?

I've put the engine in gear & stood on the rear brake to try & undo the nut, but it doesn't come loose.

I've flattened the lock washer to get the socket on.

It's not a left hand thread is it?

Any tips, before I give up?

I use an electrical impact gun, very good tool to remove nuts/bolts which are very tight.
Though, if you do not have an impact gun a buddy of mine said he would use a piece of wood wedged in between the chain and the rear sprocket to prevent it from turning.
Or, a friend sitting on the bike holding the brakes while you loosen the nut should work too.

Good luck
