Hi Monster owners,

I've noticed a component, a 'stepper motor' (see att. pic. - component circled in red), between the throttle bodies of a '07 monster S4R (testastretta) with tubing connected to the throttle bodies.
What is the component for / does it do? Does that single hose connects to the airbox?

Regards
:)

Yes, the single hose in the middle draws air from the air box.

The stepper motor controls a valve which allows additional air past the throttle plates to each of the cylinders. The purpose is to assist with cold idle by providing additional air with the throttle "closed."

Unlike the idle air bypass screws, the motor provides some on-the-fly adjustibility to maintain proper idle.
