As the owner of a "collector bike", my thought and general approach to ALL motorcycles is this: Treat them well, service them, maintain them, keep them clean. Respect their mechanical strengths, inspect, monitor, repair their inherent mechanical weaknesses...
And ride 'em every chance you get. You ain't gettin' any younger, and worshipping yer scoot is likely to get you killed because you never really learn how to ride her for fear of messin' her up. I don't believe in wontonly beating the pee out of anything. Take good care of it, be proud of the wear that may come to show, and appreciate the character the bike develops as it ages gracefully (hopefully along with the owner). -Capt
