Hey there. Looks like my only real option for a solo seat for my trackie is to cop the shipping charges and buy from RicambiWeiss and ship to Oz. They have 3 options on their site:

http://www.ricambiweiss.com/SEAT-UNIT/DUCATI-43/DR107-HOeCKER-DUCATI-900SS-IE.html

http://www.ricambiweiss.com/SEAT-UNIT/DUCATI-43/DR164-HOeCKER-DUCATI-750-900-SS.html

http://www.ricambiweiss.com/SEAT-UNIT/DUCATI-43/DR14-HOeCKER-DUCATI-900SS-IE.html

This is going on a track bike so can anyone tell me if with the first 2 - DR 107 and DR 164 - for fitting Di you remove all the original tail bits / brake light / pillion handle and seat latch etc. seems fitting might be tricky but with a bit of creativity, possible. Do they cover over the brake light area?

With the last one DR 14, This fits over the original seat, does it cover the area where the brake light is? I can see that I’d probably need to retain the seat latch and hack saw off the grab handle if I went with this option.

Anyone use any of these 3 seats and what are your experiences/ advice.

Cheers

Can anyone tell me if:

back in the day, when you got a dp seat cover like the last one to go over the seat it came with a modified rear cast piece that had the grab rail cut off. it had an opening for the tail light though. long time since i've seen one now, but that's how i recall it.

the others will cover all the back stuff. just unbolt it all and save weight. they probably sit on the frame or close to from memory of race ones i have seen.

Or you could find a seat cover like I have and saw off the handle.

Both this cover (made originally Ducati Kaemna) or the Ducati Performance solo seat cover are hard to find, though.

The easiest way is probably the Ricambi Weiss stuff, as it can be purchased still.

This solution, or any of the original Ducati Performance mini seat cover ends or the Ricambi Weiss all slides over the standard seat and requires the standard hardware to fix, so they do not offer any particular weight loss, and essentially is only a cosmetic look.

All of our racers in the north east usa use the sharkskinz tail and seat support. It is not cheap but saves a ton of time fitting as everything fits and it is made well, I tried to get the web address for them but they seem to be changing names so they are in limbo right now.

you can look here.

The tail and race support are sold separately but are designed to fit together, you can make the seat support into the breather box as well.
