Just keep trying. Mine was held in there via clutch dust. I think I may have grabbed the shaft in a vice between a couple of blocks of wood, and then tap on an open end wrench up against the bearing. Almost like a gentle slide-hammer.
It can be a real PITA, even after you've had it out before and thought you were going to make things easier for the next time by adding some grease to the shaft!
Last time I sprayed some WD40 on it. Then I drilled a hole in a 2X4. Next, I fed the shaft through the hole and the used it like a slide hammer. I kept whacking the inside of the plate against the wood using the shaft to pull it. Eventually, after a beer or two, it came apart. Not sure if I am making any sense, but that's what I did. Good luck!
OK guys I am sure this is covered somewhere but may be of interest to crazy people like me who like details---Other then the plaque on the upper triple clamp what are the differences between the bikes, just as an example the SL started in 92-from what I have seen in books the difference between...
The soon-to-be-wife was asking me what I wanted for Christmas and I thought this Metmachex SA would fit the bill nicely.
Are these as beautiful in person as they look in the photos? This piece is pure bike porn.
Are they a direct bolt-in? Do I need other parts needed?
I have seen a 1995 900ss that looks interesting like a project. Can some one tell me the difference between the 1995 and the 1997 model. The fairings are obviously different but were there any technical upgrades?
Any thing special to think of when buying an old SS?
Ok... if you've been following my rants about setting up the FCRs, here's the next chapter. I got the EMR needles in the mail a couple days ago. I pulled the stock EMT needles and held them next to one another... you'd probably need a microscope and an engineering degree to tell the...
I'm aware of the RoadsterCycle kits ("Jack"), and the mounting plates etc... Good stuff, and seems very reliable (no Chinese clones).
Link for those unaware = https://roadstercycle.com/
So is it just best to mount the FH020AA in the same location as the stock voltage regulator?
