I'm thinking about using leds as a set of indicator lights..

I went with the naked look and fabbed up a custom gauge setup.. after running the bike without the indicator lights the battery went dead. I assume it needs the light to complete the charging circuit?? I mess with air cooled vw's too and they won't charge without a lite in the dash.

Sooo... my question is, will an led allow the system to charge or do i need the resistance of an incandescent bulb? I have an empty slot in my left hand controls that would be perfect for leds to indicate the neutral, charge, oil, and low fuel.

any ideas??

Has anyone experienced charging issues when the bulb is burned out?

I think i'm gonna stick to incandescent bulbs.. i plugged in the dash and the battery light stays on below about 3500 rpms.. battery is fully charged too..
