Replacement SS Indicator switch

6287 22
Hi,

Just wanted to let other Supersport (and Monster) riders know that I have 3D modelled the switch armature which commmonly breaks - you can have a copy printed in your choice of plastic and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a NOS switchblock (if you can find one!)

Here's the link:

https://www.shapeways.com/product/ZU...onId=119029287

It's a direct copy of the part from a 1995 900SS but fits any model with with Cagiva switch block part number: 036138454

ie Supersport, Monster models, 851 and Paso (best to check the parts fiche for your model and confirm the switch block is the same (EFI models use a different switch I believe)

I've posted replies on some previous threads requesting help with this.

:grin2:

I ended up having to build one good one out of two broken ones. One still had the lever this thread is about intact, but the horn button was broken off and the filler panel was missing. The other, had the filler panel and an intact horn button but the lever was broken. One came with the project bike, the other I got on eBay for $15 US. Some times, you do what you gotta to get things fixed.....sean

I think everyone knows about your product right now.
7 posts in total of which 6 concerning your indicator switch...

You're taking a risk this way...

Hi,

I was just trying to make it easy for folks to find this part whilst searching the forums for a solution - Shapeways make the money not me BTW  :grin2:

I created my own model since RockAZ would not share it and since shipping was really, really expensive from shapeway- not as fancy as RockAZ 's design but i will share it if/when it works. Just need to print and test it first.
Wait….how did Rock get the “blame” for not sharing? @RockAZ didn’t do anything but point someone in the right direction to find who created the printable part that started this thread 3 years ago.

Sorry! Mixed up usernames. chickenstrips would not share. Will update ASAP. Sorry!

Anyway - Chickenstrips made me create an alternative design, so now there is a free one out :D

My friend is very active on that share - he says a lot of their members lately have been insisting that people contribute their own designs in order to receive one. Not a problem for him, he creates stuff all the time with his kids for fun and learning, but it does seem like this change is becoming a little unfriendly to "outsiders". I don't have a 3D printer, well, I have them at work but no time to play around with them,....

Same. I’ve been recommended one….but I’ve not pulled the trigger and bought one.

The same guy who runs much of the prototyping 3D printer project also told me about a share site called thingyverse that has a number of Ducati related free prints.

I’d think, if one designed a part like what started this thread, and really wanted the community to benefit rather than profit from it; that would be the place to share it.
