Eurocycle of Reno has taken over the Ducati dealership from Michaels Powersports. Being that they were the only authorized Ducati dealership for this area, I had my fair share of disappointments with them after every service. Over half the time, I had to bring my bike in for rework. My bike often left in worse condition after they had service it. Amazing.

After visiting the new location for Eurocycle of Reno, just down the street from the Peppermill Hotel and Casino, I was pleasantly impressed with the size of the facility and the amount of bike inventory including Ducati gear and accessories. They claim they are now the number 3 Ducati dealership in the US as far as bikes sold. Hmmm. Anyways, with a 30k Desmo service approaching in less than a 1000 miles, their $138 an hour labor rate is currently out of my budget. Plus I’m not sure about their factory tech’s resume. My option is bringing my bike up to Motocorso in Portland where there is no sales tax and no questioning about the quality of their techs. And I know they give a professional rider coach discount. Either way, Eurocycle of Reno is a huge upgrade over Michaels Powersports and is a nice welcome for Northern Nevada. I hope they can earn my business, after all, I am the number 1 Ducati rider in Nevada.

I hope they work out well for you.
We have one in Chatsworth that is pretty new to Ducati, but already had Yamaha and Kawi.
I am testing them now, which is to say they have my bike, and await a part from the motherland (Italy).
Hope they work out for me.

$138 dollars a shop-hour. Just how long do they think this kind of expense is sustainable? At what point are riders forced to give up the brand and it is relegated to motorcycle "jewelry" for a few rich guys? New motorcycles sales are shrinking across the country and everyone wonders why. As for me, thank goodness I have the tools, time and space to do 90% of my own maintenance, or with costs like this, I'd be forced to give up riding.

Ducati stealerships seem to be hit and miss all over I guess. My nearest(an hour's drive/ride) has an attitude/skill problem as well.

To the OP: Do yourself a favour and learn how to fix it on your own. You'll learn a lot, about your bike, your riding and yourself! Most maintenance stuff, even on a Ducati, really isn't that bad. Start small, and work the skill up.

Good luck!

I don't know why you would consider going all the way to Portland when Sacramento has some decent independent options like Pasta Performance for example: https://www.ppm.life

The shop you are referring to are they a Ducati Shop? I have the 30k Desmo coming up. Plus it’s California, I’ll leave it at that. I’m hoping the new shop here in Reno will work with me. Even taking 20% off the top, they are making money. I work for an OEM service center for an aircraft manufacturer of private jets, our techs work on 75 million dollar jets and we don’t even charge our customers $138 labor rate, not even close.
