So .. it's time. I'm thinking we get together @ 6pm .. leave by 6:30 the latest from a parking lot on I-80. John has the location .. somewhere in Eureka?

Who's in, so we know to wait? So far it's:

We are on the same page except for the departure time. I would like to meet at 3:30PM and leave by 4:00PM. Location for the meet up will be the large parking lot next to the Brookfields Restaurant (behind the Shell station) at the intersection of Eureka and I/80 in Roseville. Theres an In an Out Burger there, the Shell station is next door to it. Leaving at 4:00PM will give us a little head start on the traffic and we will get up there while its still light out. Plus, a little more time to mess around before the track day at a club or two.

If we can't coordinate then I'll see most you up there at the Super 8 in Fernley.

We will have a resident racer/instructor helping us pre sight the track and laying cones, probably Saturday morning at 8:00AM. We will have some gratis instruction available.

WE WILL BE PROVIDING A BBQ LUNCH WITH DRINKS.

Anyone have a camera with telephoto lens? I couldn't find one reasonable enough before this weekend. Otherwise I'll take shots with a standard 35MM. We will have a professional photographer at our Thill event.

Unfortunately I can't wait, I'm picking up Vinny's bike in Folsom at 3PM and then heading back to the meet up point and promptly leaving there by 4PM to get a head start on traffic, daylight, etc. Plus, I'm stopping at the Silver Legacy to have dinner before heading into Fernley. A group of us will be going to the Silver Legacy Buffet for dinner. I believe theres a street level parking lot next to Circus Circus where we can park our trailers, my brother works up there, I'll ask him. It would be great if you and Misti can join up from the start and join us for dinner. Too bad Misti didn't have those beautiful black Marvic Mags on her bike for this trackday,hehe.

Terry told me to leave the meet up point if he doesn't get there by 4PM. He will catch up to us in Reno for dinner, he won't be far behind. Besides, that will give me a little time to throw away some money.

Where are people staying?? I called that Super8 but it didn't sound good. I had to get the last smoking room and they knew nothing of a Ducati club with group reservations??

We discussed organizing a group hotel/motel but honestly I dropped the ball on that deal. Its one thing that slipped through the cracks, I appologize for that. Alternative lodging would be the Best Western in Fernley. The "official" track site hotel was the Nugget in Sparks. I called there and was on hold for so long I hung up. Besides, its street parking lot for trailers seems to be quite a distance from the hotel.

As of right now, the hourly forecast shows showers (if any) starting late Friday night into early (6:00 AM) Saturday morning. So, if they actually do get rain in the desert, it looks like it will be finished by the time we're ready to ride.

It is 4:49AM Friday morning and the Iwon weather station shows partly cloudy with a high of 77 in Fernley for Saturday!

Sounds about perfect weather to me. Didn't we plan it that way?

Reno/Fernley private track day May 20th

What can I say? I learned its fun working in order for others to have fun. That is enjoyment and made the effort worthwhile. I had a blast helping organize it with Jovan, he did a great job. Thanks to all and especially Vinny for going to Costco for me. It was a blast riding up to Reno and back with Vinny and Som, we laughed all the way up and back. Sorry Som you dropped your bike, but fortunately nothing beyond that and Doug's mishap. It was almost a disaster when I should have brought two bags of briquets instead of one. Hell, we wound up cooking and serving 47 burgers out of 48, just about perfect I would say!

The weather was perfect, the instructors were fantastic, food was great, and the people were the best. The Reno/Fernley track people were cool too. They couldn't stop complimenting us on how cooperative and non-squidlike we were.

As long its not on AMA or AFM weekend, but you already knew that. I would say doing Reno on a Saturday is a must and around this time of year or late September like our gig time at THILL. Practice makes perfect and with a little luck. Remember to respect the Native Americans up there, the Piute Indians. My war chant worked, at least as well as the official forecasters.

Not to take anything away from you, Jovan, but I think just about everyone passed me on that G$)(*%^#$)*(#$ turn. Arrrrgh. Oh well. Next time. Maybe. Arrrghghghgh!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna to go cry now.

Me, I would let that pocket bike pass me there. If there was a place just to maintain, it would be turn 11. I was at the corner worker's station early for pics but all I saw was riders taking it easy through there.

That was turn 12 btw, John. #13 was one my favorites, late braking hard right turn - low speed and knee to the groud. I was dragging both my right knee and toe in that turn.

12 is the sharp, up hill, left hander immediatley after the bumpy back straight??? Yea, real confidence inspiring turn. ONLY place I got my left knee down all day though...and only once. The long turn back to the right at the top of the hill after the one I just mentioned was probably my favorite. Should be the same one Jovan is talking about...#13?? Got a toe down once there and drug the knee from lunch on in that one. Misti was dragging body work through that one!! I only got some right knee in one other turn but don't know the numbers. It was the 90 deg right hander before you come down hill towards the bumpy back straight.

Dragging body work on a Supersport means the suspension isn't set up right, guarenteed
