Finally did it!
Found a pearl white (with red stripe) fuel tank and rear seat cowl for my red (with white stripe) s4rs. Here is the question: I have not found a white with red front fairing so,
1.) what are the better looking carbon front fairing options?
2.) If you run without the fairing, is there anything that needs to be cleaned up?
pics would be great.
thanks!

I don't use the front fairing, I think the bike looks better without it. Personally I don't notice much of a difference in wind buffeting without it. It's only held on by two bolts and comes off and on easily. There's nothing to cleanup.

Here are some pics of my Red S4RS conversion, I think you out bid me on the ebay seat cowl. I went with the carbon fairing (slingshotracing.net).

By the way, I agree the bike looks better without the fairing; however there is a HUGE difference when riding without one, especially at high speed. I've ridden without the fairing, with the OEM fairing and with the zero gravity windscreen I have on now. There is a difference in wind protection in all 3 applications.

Montducati,
Sorry about the outbid but don't you already have a factory rear cowl?
Your bike was my inspiration for seeking the color swap; I think the pearl tank, red frame and black wheels are the best combo. Any secrets to swapping out the tank hardware and pump?
Where did you get your fairing and lower cowl?
Thanks in advance for the input, guys!

Scott,

My seat cowl is carbon which I painted factory white. The belly pan I purchased from Monsterparts primed, than painted factory white. As stated previously the carbon fairing can be purchased from slingshotracing.net.

The tank swap is relatively easy if you just have some patience.
-First remove as much gas from the tank as possible.
-Unclasp the tank and tilt it up
-Remove the fuel lines from the fuel pump. If you have 2 long screw drivers
or 2 long pointed tools it will make it easier to remove the fuel lines. Place
one on each side of the fuel line clamp and place outward pressure as you
slide them down.
-Remove the hinge pin near the seat, the tank can now be taken off the
bike.
-Remove all the hardware from your red tank - gas cap, rubber supports, felt,
hinge, clip and fuel pump. To remove the fuel pump, remove the bolts and
gently pull it away from the tank
-Now install all the hardware from the red tank onto the white tank. I used
new 3M self adhesive (Velcro type fasteners) to install the felt under the
new white tank.
-Place the white tank on the bike, install the hinge pin.
-Connect the fuel lines to the fuel pump, you may want to replace the
O-Rings on the fuel lines before connecting.

That's basically it, send some pics on your progress.
