Recognize this piece found in oil?

Closing shim half-ring. Someone dropped it in the engine. Nothing to worry about going forward.

I actually found one in my oil at the last service. "Misplaced" it during the prior service, wasted 2 hours searching the floor and surrounds in the garage.

They are small enough to disappear down the oil galleries...

That is one reason to plug the oil return hole, while servicing the valve train.
