Anyone successfully lower their footpegs on the 91-98 SS? After riding it for 4 years, my 6'3" long legged frame is finally starting to give. It looks like there is about a 1/4 of clearance in between the exhaust? Are there any rearsets that offer a lower height?

Thanks

I just took some 3/8" aluminum plates and some 999 rear sets off this forum. Some hole drilling and some thread tapping, I now have pretty nice rear sets with multiple location points to suit my mood.
I used a 999 rear MC and pedal as well, with a brake line I had around.

I just installed some buell pegs on my 98 sscr. Only had it out once for a quick jaunt, and it seemed to relax the legs slightly. They are chrome, so they dont match the look, but some beadblasting and clearcoat would probably fix that.

awesome dan, this was more of the solution I was looking for. Any chance I can see a pic of what you've done?

Thanks!

lowering . . .

Look in the gallery under my name, FredSmoot23 and see the solution I came up with. Two inch by quarter inch 7075 aluminum, make them yourself.

Just looking at this thread & wanting to fit adjustable footpegs to my 1996 900SP and the Shift-Tech pegs mentioned in this thread look perfect for what i need...but its stated they will only fit a 750/900SS from 1998 > 2002 Is there much difference if any between the actual footpeg mountings of these models? Looks pretty similar too me? Anyone able to compare the two in real life? Or anyone adapted these to fit on a 900SP Cheers:cool:

happy to announce that i've finally found someone who's making adjustable footpegs for the carbed supersports..:D
Even happier that it's a German mob that's manufacturing them & not some Ebay CNC lookalike cheapie..
Pretty reasonably priced too ...so am ordering & will post pics or a review as soon as i get them

Now i bet someones gonna say "oh i knew about these ages ago...lol...well i didn't so i'm pretty chuffed after searching high & low & hitting deadend after deadend..
