I was wondering if any body knows if a rearset made for the 1098 can be made to fit the 749 / 999 models ??? The hole configuration don't look that off... and if its spacing that might be the problem... spacers might do the trick... Anyone out there who owns both bike types got the time to check possible compatibility... Roland / Ikaika808

The xx9 bikes have special rear sets because of their positioning, the pegs are actually a bit farther back. The older superbikes are more similar to the 848/1098/1198 series. The 916/748/996/998 slingshot racing rear sets I have just need a tiny bit of milling to make work on the 848 I've got. You don't need any spacers between the 1098 and 916 style rear sets, but the 999 series, they need spacers due to the exhaust.

I tried the CRG rearsets on my 1098--but the footpegs were very flexible. Too flexible for my tastes. I wanted a more solid feel so I put on something else.

I have 916 series DP rear sets on my 749R. You have to notch-out the hanger just below the upper mount to clear the frame. I'm short, so they work for me. If you are tall-ish, the 749/999 rearsets are going to give you more leg room.
