The previous owner put a termi pipe 3/4 system on my 749s and took out the race ecu claiming it did nothing HP wise...well i noticed the bike had a hiccup so i put the ECU back in which solved this, while installing the ecu i noticed how rediculously annoying it was to remove the heat shield to the back of the battery box without pulling on any of the connecting wires too much, i accidently bent the heat shield a bit while doing it.... is there a better way to go about getting behind the battery box,are the cable disconnects deeper within the ducati ?

thanks for your time..

cheers,
alex

so i presume there is not a better way of doing it? those damn heat shield screws are just asking to be stripped out and it makes me feel so bad and abusive when i take it apart, perhaps i will make a carbon fiber heatshield with quick disconnects, would anyone be interested in one once I make a mold?

Not completely positive CF would deflect the heat in an as efficient manner at the current heat shield. Bending it back a little to get in there isn't going to hurt anything though. Besides, how often are you going to be back there??? Oh yea, what's a 3/4 system????
