If you’ve been following my other thread, I’ve got a US 998 (shallow sump) that is getting a new engine that will be deep sump. Does anyone know if sharkskins, armour bodies or similar bodywork have oil catch pans that would fit over the deep sump style cases?

The 996R/998R and RS's have deep sumps so I can't imagine that you would have a hard time finding race bodywork with a belly pan that won't fit.

Not sure why I didn’t think of that! Thank you. Brain lapse

Standard Sharkskins do interfere. I had to cut a hole.

Crap. How low below the fairings does the sump hang? To race I have to have oil containment, so cutting a hole for the sump to poke through isn't an option for me unfortunately.

Only that lowest, 4-bolt cover interferes--less than an inch, as I recall. It probably wouldn't be tough to fiberglass in a bulge to fit it.
