purchase decision~

Just test rode the 1100 evo and it was a lot of fun :D More fun than my 848 sbk. Only complain was the wind instability on the highway and the low rev limit.

I'm currently in the market for a 1100 evo or the new speed triple. I can get the new S3 for little cheaper and with accessories incentive Triumph is currently offering. Local dealer don't have demo S3 so this is making my decision little harder. Anyone rode both new bikes and can share their opinions? I also ride quite a bit with my fiance and she was pretty comfortable on the monster seat. Not sure if it's the same with S3.

Some of my factors:

Ducati Monster 1100 Evo
-Elegantly sexy
-the brand
-Ducati safety package
-superb handling

Triumph Speed Triple
-masculine look
-more torque, more power
-higher rev limit
-better negotiation room for price

Some thoughts are appreciated~

I had a similar choice but included the MV Brutale also. The Speed Triple engine looks untidy to me - too many bolt heads and accessoried hanging off it - plus the awful bolt-on lights - great engine though, My previous bike was a Daytona 675 so nothing against Triumph as a brand & no woriies about quality but my bikes have to look good also!

The Brutale looks great, but I wasn't sure about the quality of the finish and level of dealer support as I read there had been a few issues.

So to the EVO. I originally test rode the 796 with a view to moving to this from my 675. The test ride was ok but there was a lack of grunt when compared to the 675. Luckily the dealer also had a 1100 EVO demo model which I took out and as sson as i opened her up on the highway I was convinced this was the one! Had it for 6 months now and have no qualms over changing from a sports bike - no more sore neck or wrists. Will be adding heated grips for the winter. Only gripe is the tank range - 100 miles to fuel light is not good enough!!
I've also considered the new Brutale. As matter of fact, it would be my top choice if it wasn't for the closest dealer being 3 hours away from me. I've also heard parts can be a long wait. That's why I came down to the 2 choice of S3 or monster evo.

Thanks for all your feedbacks~:)
