I had a similar choice but included the MV Brutale also. The Speed Triple engine looks untidy to me - too many bolt heads and accessoried hanging off it - plus the awful bolt-on lights - great engine though, My previous bike was a Daytona 675 so nothing against Triumph as a brand & no woriies about quality but my bikes have to look good also!
The Brutale looks great, but I wasn't sure about the quality of the finish and level of dealer support as I read there had been a few issues.
So to the EVO. I originally test rode the 796 with a view to moving to this from my 675. The test ride was ok but there was a lack of grunt when compared to the 675. Luckily the dealer also had a 1100 EVO demo model which I took out and as sson as i opened her up on the highway I was convinced this was the one! Had it for 6 months now and have no qualms over changing from a sports bike - no more sore neck or wrists. Will be adding heated grips for the winter. Only gripe is the tank range - 100 miles to fuel light is not good enough!!
