I'm not quite satisfied yet that I've completely solved the "droop", but I think I might be on to something. It seems to me that the ball and socket arrangement needs to have constant pressure on it to keep it from moving. I bought some small compression springs (.36x.5x.047) to see if I could prove out this idea. All you need is a bit longer screw, a washer and a spring. Take out the existing screw that holds the ball and socket together and replace it with the longer screw, washer and spring. Tighten the screw enough to compress the spring. The spring that I bought could be a little stronger and maybe a little longer, but even as it is, seems to be working pretty well.
