Matte objects absorb and radiate heat very well, while shiny things do not. Something like the heat shield above the right foot peg or the exhaust pipes would perform better in a polished state, but things like cylinder heads and radiators should be dull. Control levers feel better to me when they are smooth and slippery.
What I'm saying, is that, let function rule with choices like surface finish and you will never worry about being tacky.
