OK guys, can anyone confirm that the axle pin for a regular 1098 will fit in the streetfighter?? I've got one for my brutale but it's a touch too big. I'm pretty sure it is.

Want to know before I order one.

Dont quote me but I've looked into this also as I have one already. I was told the 1098 and Streetfighter are the same.

First production 1098 had different size axle tube than the others.
I'd measure it for you but the 1098 is sold and the SF is not here yet!
Sorry!

Yep you have to pull the pipes to get the wheel off, least near as I can tell. But pretty easy, you just have to detach a couple retaining springs and the mount to the foot peg. The cans only have about a 3" section of pipe sticking out which insert into the rest of the exhaust system. so pretty easy. If disassembly goes as it looks, I'd think you could pull the pipes in 10-15 minutes.

I went to pitbulls website. This is what they say for the 1098

"NOTE: It has come to our attention that some 2008 1098R models have a smaller diameter hole on the right side axle than other 1098 models. Please verify that your right side axle hole is larger than 1.685" or call/email us to let us know if you need the custom 1098R pin."

I measured the right side hole as they instructed and 1.68 was what I got.

So it should work.
