where in Canada are you?I am proud new Paul Smart owner, I know from reading and researching forums, finding a set of the OEM Paul Smart lower fairings is like finding a unicorn but nevertheless that’s what I’m looking for. I know they are not cheap when they come up. Anyone happen to have a set for sale? Or have a lead on a set?
I know I’ll have to be realistic here, so I am considering a set of aftermarket fairings but have heard very mixed reviews when it comes to good fitment and of course matching the silver metal flake paint. So far the best reviews I’ve seen for for are for Airtech’s aftermarket fairings. Any suggestions and or experience from owners who have purchased high quality aftermarket lower fairings, would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
there are 4 options to my knowledge
1. look for OEM - best option but keep in mind that OEM lowers were prone to cracking at the bottom mounting points. I have seen this a lot
2. as you mentioned, Airtech. quality is poor and they require A LOT of sanding and prepping to mount properly and look decent
3. check eBay Italy. Someone there also advertises lowers but DON'T be fooled, they are not OEM despite the misleading description. My friend in Germany got a set and they are comparable to Airtech. Perhaps they are Airtech and are being prepped and painted and sold as "OEM"
4. Worthing Classics - Luke makes lowers made of carbon. the advantage is that they will not crack like the OEM but the disadvantage is that you need to do some serious homework on how to avoid the carbon touching the tank. if you don't, the abrasive carbon will destroy your tank and any other areas it touches on your bike. Perhaps Luke has solutions for this. I also don't know if he as any fairings left for sale
other than that, I am not aware of any other leads
