Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping that someone can help confirm a part number for me, since none of the official dealers seem to be able to!

The part in question is the tacho driving gear on the camshaft of the horizontal cylinder. My workshop manual says it is part number 0660.29.060. The tacho cable connects to the driven gear/spindle 0660.92.155.

0660.92.155 is still available but apparently 066.29.060 isn't.

However from the 600/750 SuperSport (1991-1997) parts diagram I have it looks like they use the same parts, but that 0660.29.060.and 0660.92.155 are now sold as a set under part number 0660.92.160

Can you please let me know if 0660.92.160 contains the exact parts as 0660.29.060.and 0660.92.155?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Tony

more info

I still haven't gotten a definitive answer to this question, but have been told that these gear sets come in 2 or 3 different ratios to suit the different instruments used on different Pantahs and SuperSports

Found this out from some one who had just rebuilt an over revved Pantah 650. 6000rpm indicated on the tacho was actually closer to 9000rpm.

I would think that's true; certainly the old bevel Ducatis had different drives to suit the Smiths/Veglia rev counters and the Nippon Denso.

Hello Tony,
The number of teeth, for want of a better word, changed at least 3 times.
I have some spares of these that "may" help you if you need.
Some of these were the same as the 650 Allizzurra. From my experience some of the 650 Ducatis had different tacho drive ratios also.
you can email me if you want, [email protected] , I can count the teeth on the drives and see if I have something that you require.
Regards Graeme.

18 teeth on the driven gear

Hello,

mine has 18 teeth on the driven gear. The Tacho has R = 1 : 4.16 on the front face (along with ND Made in Japan).

Thanks

Tony
