My 749s doesn't seem to have the one-push start button feature. My ST3 has it and my friend's 999s has it.

The question is, should the 749 have it? And what controls this functionality? Is it the ECU? A relay?

Yes it should and its a pick-hold relay as far as I know. My 749R has the feature so yours should I believe.

OK. So what do I need to do to get it working again? Right now I have to hold the button like a normal starter.

Sometimes I forget which bike has what for a starter button and get it all bollixed up.

I still would like to know what the mechanism is for the one-push starter button. Anyone know for sure?

My '03 999s DID have it. Go figure.

I stand corrected if its an ECU thing. I always assumed it was simpler than that.
