I know I have read something about this somewhere here, but my search efforts have proven frustrating.

I am replacing the brake lever on my 999, and am having a devil of a time getting the piston into that little rubber bootie thing! What's the trick to getting it inserted without tearing the rubber?

I just did this last week, and didn't really have any issue. I think I inserted the piston into the rubber boot and just used my fingers to work it over the piston.....

This is getting frustrating. It's always the little things that make me feel inept.

I feel like I am trying to jack off a gerbil.

:D

It is surprisingly tricky. A used spray white lithium grease as it is quit thin and is easy to get on everything you want coated.

After lots of fiddling it will suddenly just work. Your simile is apt.
