My oil cooler line drooped down until it was resting on the header pipe, you can see where it was resting. I smelled oil burning briefly for the past two rides so it's likely been on there 6 hours or so.
I have to ride it about 15 miles Thursday and another 15 on Sunday, can't be cancelled.
I'm planning to change the line but in the case I can't get the part installed in time, how risky is riding it 30 miles?
How damaged might the tubing be inside the braided line?
Burned rubber pieces circulating in the oil?
Just curious if anyone's seen this and what kind of shape the oil line may have been in.
Thanks,

Aeroquip makes Firesleeve to cover hoses that are in high heat locations. It's sold by the foot and comes in different sizes. Good stuff.

All good ideas and I plan to do both before replacing the fairings.
Is the oil line dead?
Those are reusable fittings, and they can be put on a new piece of hose easily. You should be able to have this done at a flight service company (FBO) at most airports. They should also have the Firesleeve. Try Pacific Airmotive
