This may sound totally dumb, but please, hear me out.

I was changing my oil and letting the Duc warm up beforehand when I noticed something that I haven't seen before.

You know how there is the oil sight glass, and then there is the sight glass by the flywheel?

I noticed that there was a wash of oil present in the flywheel sight glass. I haven't noticed this before, so it caught me off guard. I never noticed it in there swooshing around.

I was looking through diagrams and what not trying to see if this is normal. I cannot seem to find any information about it or warnings to look out for it.

Is this oil presence normal? Please help me out. Thanks everyone.

If it isn't normal, any suggestions?

Yes there is oil flying around in that part of the motor, lubricating all the bearings and gears in there. Water pump bearings, timing gears, starter motor gears, etc.

Thank you, that's what I had thought, i just wasn't sure. Just figured that I would have noticed it sooner. Again, thank you so much.
