I've ordered some new fittings for the oil-cooler lines,
the lines from the engine to the cooler.

Today I received the fittings an they don't fit ;(
So I guess I have ordered the wrong one.

Or, can it be my dealer made a mistake?

The left (black) one is the one I needed, the right one is the one I received today.

Or is this an old /new model issue?

If you ordered just the fittings as shown in the picture they will NOT work
with the old oil lines.

Sorry, my bike is a '98 748SP
The black fitting on the left is the one that's used on my bike.
So I just ordered two new ones for my rebuild. (My dealer knows what kind of bike I have)
And today I received the fittings as shown on the right side in the picture.

The question was, what went wrong?

Brian,

This setup was allready working.
But the black fitting in the pic is cnc machined aluminium. (The left one)
The old fitting was a bit worn so I ordered new ones.
i'm rebuilding my bike at the moment and I want to have everything look like new.

So I ordered two new fittings and I received two fittings that are different from the ones I have. (The right one)

The black fitting is the type i have on my 1998sps which like you say will/does work with the old oil lines, so they should of sent you that type not the silver fitting on the right.
The black fitting has a convex seat
The silver fitting looks like it has a concave seat.

The silver fitting looks like the new fittings where the hose has two 'O' rings on the end.

They are less likely to leak but obviously need new type hoses to fit.

DukeDesmo,

You're right, there were 4 green O-rings included, two for each fitting.
I've allready contacted my dealer and he confirmed there are two models, no problem he said, I will sent you the other ones!

Thanks guys!
