I need to re-anodize an "Ohlins" rear shock cover. Can the outer labelled can be unscrewed without disassembly of the entire shock? Do I need to bleed it?

The reservoir canister holds both Nitrogen as well as oil you will need to completely disassemble the shock to do what you are asking. you might also check first the cost of replacing the canister as if you are going that far a freshening and canister swap might be close to the cost of just anodizing the part and with replacing at least you know the colors match.
