Does anyone know if the ohlins FGRT 803 (53/53) from a 1098 fits the streetfighter base model? Than I mean length, front axle?
What will be a reasonable price for a second hand in euro?

I think they will fit but you will need a set of triple clamps from an S model.
A set of used RT's may be a little rare and I wouldn't expect them to be much under full retail.

I have been offerred for a set, €1650,- the down site is that the Pre-load adjusters are a bit you can call it damaged see pictures. New price over here EU is about €2300. The recall has been done, with new oil and seals.
It should fit but I want to make it sure.

If I buy it from an S model, the forks would be around €1000,- and the triple about €300 I think, so that would be cheaper. But than again the FGRT are the nicer ones....

What do you people think I should do.

no need for ohlins forks. get ohlins or k-tech shim stacks + ohlins springs to suit your weight + ohlins fork oil. basically as good as ohlins original forks, minus the golden looks.

Hello Austria!
I tried to fit a FGRT815 on a S model and it does not work! The distance between upper and lower clamp is larger than on the superbike and the FGRT is chamfered. Either you live with some "play" at the upper clamp or you go for the OEM Öhlins with a cartridge kit (as I did). For more details (also in German) send me a pm.
Cheers,
Switzerland

If the 803s came off a base 1098 then they bolt right up to a base 1098SF. I did the same thing on my old SF. I took the race suspension off of my 1098 and put it on my SF. It is a straight swap.
