I got bored in the rain last night and drilled out the stock mufflers on the GT,only I did it from inside the exhaust tube that kinda bends in to the side.tough place to drill, any way it sounds like one pipe is clearly louder than the other.now bloody what?I dident get to road test it for any other suprisesyet,looks:think::think: like a new set of pipes in the future:think:

Better off drilling your Mrs if you get bored than your bike mate .

At least it still works and acts the same in the morning :D

Until she finds out how much those Termis cost......:D

For some reason the song "Lola" just came into my head.

For what it's worth, you might be able to undo your drilled holes somehow. I've had sucess undoing a similar mod using steel wool, but you will need some kind of fastener to secure it.

It simply amazes me that people who own a Duc would attempt to take the cheap way out to get something done on their bike. Just buy a new exhaust...if you want to go about it in a truly right way buy new headers as well.

Start fresh and both you and your Duc will be happier for it.

I just happen to have a pair of stock GT cans in my garage that I will be happy to sell you if you want them. I'm sure Ducati's price is around $1000 apiece. Mine would be a small fraction of that.

Give me a PM if you want near new stock cans.

I played with drilling the mufflers out and it worked for me. I needed a better tone so I made my own setup. Fun and creative. I for one never had the dough to invest $1800 in Termis. Good if you can. But for around $150 I did my own thing and am happy with it.

Here's a good thread on the topic. http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?t=58356

Here's my own mod:http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showpost.php?p=578478&postcount=45

I have seen and heard these on DucBeak's ride. Tre' cool and tre' cheap. If you are looking for something different with those two criteria in mind I would recommend starting here.
