Hello all Ducati enthusiast.
I would like information how to identify ST3 clutch type (wet or dry).
Is there any differences in clutch cover or other ways to identify the clutch type?
The vin number shows manufacturing date (10th digit), so if the digit is 5 or greater then the bike should have wet clutch?

Greetings from Finland!

Start the engine
If she sounds like a Honda then it's a wet clutch
If she sounds like an Irish tap dancer (clickety-clickety-clack) then she has a dry clutch

Covers are different.

Dry

Wet

Dry clutch covers can easily be removed to add an open vented cover like this.

You can't remove the cover on a wet clutch bike without needing sealant to reinstall and first draining the oil.

Might be wrong, but I thought all the remaining ST bikes got wet clutches from 2005 on.

Dan is Right-on. 2004 ST3 is dry. 2005 on-up are wet.
