I'm wondering that myself. From the wording it sounds like if you put the bars at full lock, you can then select something to lower it, maybe? After than I'm not sure if it automatically goes back to normal, or what. How does the minimum preload function work?
If I'm reading that right, what they've done is a sort of bastardized version of the HD solution; instead of being a dynamic, vehicle speed sensitive system, it just gives you a toggle to quickly set the preload to the minimum allowable setting on a static, user-selectable basis. It's the best they can do with the equipment on the bike, against a feature I'm sure HD is taking plenty of conquest sales with.It allows you to set the rear shock absorber preload to the minimum (from the handlebar lock), reducing the height of the vehicle to make it easier to put your feet on the ground during city use.
LOL. Never imagined Bologna taking ideas from Milwaukee.
Seems to me that's more of a misnomer than anything else. They probably just added another option to the preload selection button in the left side handlebar switchgear. Not knowing for sure, but I'm thinking that you have to be stopped and the handlebars all the way to the left or right to change the setting. Maybe because this isn't a setting they want people changing while moving.
This feature software update is not out yet. I just talked to my dealer yesterday about it, and they said its still not available and they don't know when It will be.Hey everyone - has anyone here actually done the software update yet? I plan to have mine done this weekend here in the US.
Had the update installed yesterday at Ducati London. All pretty neat. To access the min preload setting to the low height just press and hold the preload button on the left switch cube. Same to return to previous setting too. This feature software update is not out yet. And they still haven't made the feature as good as the PanAm. Hopefully for the short riders Ducati will get it right on the next model year.It allows you to set the rear shock absorber preload to the minimum (from the handlebar lock), reducing the height of the vehicle to make it easier to put your feet on the ground during city use.

I got confirmation from Ducati that as of Monday this update is now available for all US MTSV4s.This feature software update is not out yet. I just talked to my dealer yesterday about it, and they said its still not available and they don't know when It will be.
Just saw an English youtuber display it. Hold the "spring" button down and it engages. He showed it turning off at 71mph. Not sure how to turn it off manually but guessing hit the button again. How does the minimum preload function work?
My dealer told me on Friday 2/11 that they didn't have the software available yet and would call me when it was online.I got confirmation from Ducati that as of Monday this update is now available for all US MTSV4s.
