Firstly,Hi to you all from a newbie to this site in the Sunny UK:rolleyes:

I'm picking up my Streetfighter S on Saturday.YeeeHaww!!

Took one for a tester last Saturday and simply had to get it.

I found the front Brembo's a bit sharp :eek:but attributed this to the fact that the bike only had 6 miles on the clock and they hadn't bedded in..
:crazy::crazy::crazy:
Also the engine felt tight but that was to be expected..

Am watching the clock anxiously and praying for a Sunny day
Tick,Tock,tick,Tock,AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH !!!!!!

Look forward to some good banter and info from here.
Regards.:abduct:

Greetings.
I went to Riders on their open day for the Streetfighter release on the 9th of May and put a deposit down on a Red one.
Chopped in my beloved,mint,M1800r against it.
Picked it up yesterday
I guess no one in Wales had the dosh,Tee-Hee,but Mr Branson gave ME a nice shiny card with 0 percent so I simply had to do the decent thing and MAX it out !!Don't know how I'm gonna pay it back but isn't that what's made this country great?following the lead given by our politicians.
Just doing my bit to keep the economy going, old boy.....:abduct:

As you can see ,the Customizing process has begun.....

Tail Tidy and Renthal FatBars are ordered.....
Also the brakes on my "S" weren't as sharp as on the demo.
Riding position is biased TOOO far over the front making it uncomfortable for fat midgets.(like myself)but that will soon be sorted.

Looks good - possibly the first red in the country!
Was considering doing the fatbars also - where have you ordered them from?

thank god!
Unfortunately I don't think the New Boss is any different, just a lot more subtle and subversive in the way he's gonna go about things.

But you're right, the last Boss was surely giving you "Septics" a bad rep around the world.
ps.I love the USA !!and AREA 51:alien:

fluid cup

nice mirrors.

I will have 1098 clip -ons installed with 999 reservoir.
I now comfort!... but don't care I am young enough....

Some clearance issues with the headlight and potentially reduction of the turning radius....
Anything above the tank to headlight line has to go.

As per sterring damper, probably a rotary ohlins

What????:think::think:

Why don't you just buy a 1098/1198??
Mmmmm,No dis but those were my thoughts.
I actually thought about going the oother way, getting a 1098 and streetfighterin' it.but then those boffins at Ducati tempted me with the SFS1098.!!!!!!!
Damn you Ducati, now I'm Skint !!!!.......again

That would require alot of work and sacrifiving a perfectly good 1098.
1098 has battery on the side, a bunch of wires everywhere...
If you'd like to go that road, make sure you get a totalled one... because when you're done with it, it's value won't be much more... (even if your construction skills are way good, you'll never get your "investments" back.

Hmmm and what do think is gonna happen to your modded SF when you're done with it?

From here looks like you've defeated the purpose.

But you know, different strokes and all - fix it up an post some pics :D I'm sure it will be bad @ss!

First I will ride the thing the way it is for a a while..se what' s up.
then I am thinking reversible mods.

1098 lines and top-triple (I still have to figure out geometry differences between 1098 and sf).
1098 clip-ons, then 999 cups are bolt-on to the pumps...( ithink...)

I don't think the purpose of the sf lies only in a higher handle bar.
I do like to mod my bikes and i think the SF is really asking for it.
Like you said it will look bad @ss and still will be more comfy than the 1098 and no less efficient.
