greetings forum,
i am looking for some guidance as to which panels/parts need to be removed to change the
timing belts. i just picked up the bike today and am still finding my way around. it is a 98 with 4100 miles and the original belts. the bike came with a spare set of kevlar belts. it did come with owners manual, and i have downloaded the shop manual. i plan a closer examination over the weekend.
a quick edit, i should check the valves while messing around with the belts. new valve cover gaskets are required?

Hi Dave,

You start by removing dash board surrounds, then the mirrors, top fairing, unplug indicators, then do the sides and bottoms.
Then you can remove the battery and holder to get at the belt covers.

Have fun, take photos and notes
