A better investment??? Is this a joke??
All you want is another person in your group buy!
1600$ to shed 3 to 4 lbs. hahahahahahaah
If I had the choice between $1600 in carbon fiber or a $1600 aluminum fuel tank, a bunch of CNC billet parts, or even an exhaust. I would pick the $1600 aluminum fuel tank as a first addition to the bike. The #1 reason would be to never have to think about ethanol expansion problems. Reason #2 would be to shed another 3 to 4 pounds and to gain another half a gallon of fuel capacity.
Putting $1600 of carbon fiber on the bike will do none of the above except possibly saving a few ounces of weight. So to me the tank is a better investment. Of course I want him to join the group buy. That's why it's called a group buy. We need a certain number of participants to get it done. I'm not even sure where the OP lives. So I'm not sure if he has ethanol free gas available or not. Many of us don't. Up in Canada ethanol free gas is available so maybe it's not a problem for you. I bet you would have a more positive attitude about the aluminum tank buy when they start dumping ethanol in your fuel up in Canada and your tank balloons up. You could always buy an aluminum tank now and beat the system. It's your money. Do what you want with it. And NO, what I said in my earlier post or now is not a joke.
